Impact - 13.9.2016
Alongside financial performance, Finnish Industry Investment assesses its economic and societal impact on a yearly basis.
FII’s economic impact in a nutshell in 2015:
FII’s President & CEO Martin Backman comments:
“FII has a significant role in developing the Finnish venture capital and private equity market, enabling a diverse supply of growth financing for Finnish companies. International investors have become more active in the Finnish market in recent years. In addition to capital, international investors bring valuable expertise and networks to accelerate the growth of portfolio companies.
The core of our business is to enable Finnish companies to grow and go international through risk financing and active ownership. The software company M-Files is a good example of this; during FII’s ownership period, the company’s sales have grown by 250% and the number of staff has doubled. Another good example is our involvement in sharing investment risk when the German Meyer acquired the Turku Shipyard. Profitable and growing portfolio companies lead to our own profitability.“
