Appointments in Industry Investment: Anne Riekki appointed CFO and Thomas Ahlström Senior Advisor, Private Equity

Investment Director Anne Riekki, LLM, MSc (Econ) has been appointed Finnish Industry Investment Ltds Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the Management Group while CFO Marko Häikiö is away on a years study leave.

As CFO, Ms Riekki will head Industry Investments Finance, Administration and Asset Management team. ´

"A government-owned investment company has an appreciable impact on Finlands private equity & venture capital market. At present we are an investor, directly or through funds, in roughly 450 growth companies", Riekki comments.

Anne Riekki started at Industry Investment as an investment manager in 2007 and was appointed investment director in 2009. In these positions she has gained in-depth experience of investing in domestic and foreign funds.

Ms Riekki spends her leisure with her family, enjoying cottage life and boating.

Senior Advisor, Private Equity, Thomas Ahlström has been working in government-owned investment company Finnish Industry Investment Ltd since 1st September.

Our business environment is going through an interesting period right now, in the wake of the global financial crisis. Different equity-based financial instruments will become more important in M&As and buyouts, as the easy loan financing of earlier years contracts, Ahlström predicts.

Previously Ahlström has worked in Helmi Capital Ltd, an investment consultancy he founded, and also in Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB, as country manager for Finland and CEO of the Helsinki company. He has spent 10 years of his career working in the finance business abroad, in London and Sydney.

Thomas Ahlström also has many years experience of boardwork in companies operating in the finance, industrial and venture capital sectors.

He likes to hunt in his free time.
